I've spent my life uncovering signals buried in noise: tiny ripples in spacetime, meaningful insights within vast datasets, and the invisible pain of billions of humans and other animals. I use data and technology in creative ways to reveal these hidden stories, so we can ultimately reduce suffering in the world.

I'm Principal Data Scientist at Our World in Data, a publication that reaches tens of millions of readers every year. I'm also the creator of AltruFísica and hold a PhD in astrophysics. I serve on the board of the Welfare Footprint Institute, and I've pledged 🔸 to donate 10% of my income to effective charities.
